Jack Mordes
Jack was (from 2004-2006) head of Goldman Sachs JBWere’s highly ranked Healthcare Research team, advising fund managers on investments in healthcare companies. He has broad experience in valuing companies, analysing and commenting on industry transactions and predicting sector trends. In 2005, he was ranked #2 in The Australian Financial Review’s analyst review.
He commenced with JBWere’s Investment Research team in London in 2001, gaining experience across a variety of industries including media (including being part of the #1 ranked News Corp research team), chemicals, diversified industrials and materials/resources.
He began his professional career in 1996 as a mergers and acquisitions lawyer with Mallesons Stephen Jaques. From 1999-2000, he worked in mergers and acquisitions / capital markets with a US law firm, Dewey Ballantine in Warsaw, Poland.
In 2002, he obtained an MBA (with Distinction) majoring in Accounting and Finance from the London Business School, where he was awarded a place on the Dean’s List for academic achievement. As part of his MBA, he also completed the coursework requirements for a Masters in Finance. He has degrees in Economics and Law (with Honours) from Monash University and is admitted as a barrister and solicitor in the Supreme Court of Victoria. He is a member of the Chartered Accountants’ Business Valuation Special Interest Group.
He has valued companies across industries as diverse as health and aged care, media, chemicals, industrial manufacturing, construction, biotech, retail, professional services, agricultural production and services, wholesale and distribution and financial services / mortgage providers.
